The Guardian

Vision - I really enjoyed the title to this piece, and I think it matches it quite well. I would venture to say that you had the title in mind the whole time. The one thing I would say about your vision of this piece: without the title, I'm not sure I would have thought of the dragon as a "Guardian". Frankly, I don't really see anything to guard or anything to guard against. But the piece is still brilliant and I can see how it would have been hard to add such things.

Originality - I can't say I'm a good judge in this area... I haven't until recently viewed many fantasy genre images or even been on deviantART. From what I can see, dragons are a rather common theme, but the pose of your dragon looks rather original, though it left me wishing I could see more of him.

Technique - I definitely like your lighting here. The way the moon shines down the valley illuminating the clouds/fog, making the dragon and the city/castle (perhaps what he guards against?) light up, and casting dark shadows among the cliffs and trees: very good. I especially like the birds (or maybe other dragons?) that can be seen as dark shapes in the moon's light.

Impact - This drawing left me with a distinctly positive feeling: browsing through your other drawings and photos.

Overall, this is a great piece and I hope to see more drawings like this.
